- Keep the consignment available and unaltered for inspection. Don’t seal it into a container or commingle it with other goods before the inspector has examined it; repackaging after inspection but before shipment is a common way certificates become invalid.
- Complete any required treatment — fumigation, heat treatment, cold treatment, or another accepted method — and make sure it’s documented in the treatment section of the certificate, not just mentioned in a separate letter.
